This morning was an exceptionally beautiful sunrise, and as we watched it come up over Biscayne Bay, I heard and then we saw two manatees swimming in front of us.
Dan then made the following fascinating observations: this is the third Monday before chemo and all three Mondays we saw sea mammals (dolphins the first two times and manatees today). Additionally, all three weekends before chemo I had emotional meltdowns.
I like the pre-chemo dolphin and manatee sightings, but the meltdowns have got to go. Perhaps, though, the juxtaposition of the two is the yin and yang of my current life.

Dear Jane,
Hopefully this comment posts! I try to post one of the previous blog—for some reason it didn’t go through. Anyway, what a bitch about the hives—YUCK! And thank goodness once again for your wonderful family. Jesse and Ariella are right you do look and are beautiful! I liked Jesse’s word – “majestic”. It’s bad about the meltdowns before chemo. I guess it’s timed that way. Thank goodness as of Tuesday you are halfway through. I look forward to seeing you Wednesday. Love, Leslie
I too have the day before chemo meltdowns, although mine are more anxiety that anything. As my baby brother put it, it’s like someone holding a hammer over your hand saying “here it comes! hold still, this won’t hurt a bit!” Yeah right. At least we know we’re emotional, feeling humans!
i think the marine mammal sightings are definitely significant. That’s where i believe life began, and we can really get a lot of strength from there…why I’m moving back to the east coast!
